Overthinking

I think overthinking is bad. I know. Groundbreaking. But seriously, I figured out how overthinking affects me in my day-to-day life. Overthinking stems from a place of rationality. Before we make a choice we want to make sure we made the right one. So naturally, we start simulating all possible outcomes. This is not bad, but we do need to stop evaluating after a certain point. I don’t know where to draw the line, but it does vary depending on the decision you are trying to make. Because what happens if you don’t stop overthinking, is our brain goes into overdrive and starts counting edge-case possibilities and uncertainties. “Oh! I will definitely tank if I try talking on stage”. “I don’t have much to add to this conversation. These people clearly know more than me”. These are not facts. We sometimes think they are. Thinking too much corrodes your life. You stop believing in yourself. You discount all the skills and abilities you have. It robs you of possibilities. It robs you of life.
Anyways, that's all I have to say about that. Let me know what you think. Or don’t. Live your best life.
